About This Property

Our place sits on 13 private acres in the Animas River Valley, about ten minutes north of Durango. It's a luxury safari tent, and it's the only one out here. You're not booking a numbered site at a campground. You've got the whole property to yourself.

Getting in is half the fun. You'll take a short ride on the side-by-side to reach the tent, so there's no parking lot and nothing to hike. Once you're there it's just you and the land. We have our own stretch of the river, and it's a great spot to sit and read or float around on a warm afternoon.

The tent is real glamping. There's an actual bed and a small kitchen stocked with what you'll need. It's a proper setup, not a sleeping bag on the ground.

A couple of honest things before you book. We're off grid out here, so it isn't going to be perfect the way a hotel is, and that's kind of the point. The AC runs, but remember you're in a tent, so it takes the heat down without feeling like the AC in your house. Our power is solar with a propane generator for backup and to run the AC, and the propane one does make some noise when it's running. We're also in a valley with neighbors around, so you will hear a car go by and a dog bark once in a while.

For most folks that's an easy trade. You give up a few of the usual comforts and you get real privacy, your own piece of the river, and 13 acres that are yours for the whole stay. It beats pitching a tent in the trunk or parking next to the highway.

Come see why people keep talking about this one long after they head home.

Wasn't sure what to expect with a new company promising a "unique" experience, especially when we're sorta conditioned to expect glamping to mean side by side geodomes. 100% worth it for the air conditioning alone, but honestly they thought of everything, right down to a cold water dispenser, running water,...
