Hosting on Your Land

Land Used To Be Something You Could Pass Down

Land Used To Be Something You Could Pass Down

Owning land is one of the greatest things someone can own. But it has also gotten expensive and I know that one up close. My family owned a lot of prime farmland in Texas and we had to sell some of it because of how expensive everything has gotten.

Land used to be something you could pass down. Now the family it gets passed down to has to figure out how to carry it. How do we pay the taxes and the upkeep? Every single year. If you are holding land that came down to you from your parents or grandparents you already know that question. And you have probably wondered if there is a way to make money off your land without selling any of it.

My family had to let part of ours go. I cannot undo that, so I would love to help other families hold onto theirs.

Why we started Campfire Concierge

That is one of our whys for starting Campfire Concierge. We wanted families to be able to keep their land and we wanted the land to stay as natural as possible. Those two things are why hosting on your land works the way it does with us.

And if that is you, I want to say this plainly. You are not somebody with a few extra acres sitting around. You are the one keeping your family’s land in your family. That is a big deal!

What hosting on your land actually looks like

Here it is. You provide the land and we bring the equipment and set it up and take care of the guests from the booking through the teardown. You are not building a campground and you are not the one out there at suppertime explaining to a stranger where the trash goes.

Go out this weekend and stand in the spot where you would want a guest to wake up. You already know which one it is! It is the one you walk everybody out to when they visit so they can see the best part of the place.

I want to be straight with you about where we are too. We are brand new and we are still building a lot of this as we go so you would not be joining something big and polished. You would be joining us and we will be right there with you.

So if keeping that land in your family is what is on your mind, go fill out the partner application. It asks right at the start whether you are a private landowner or a campground. The first step is just making an account and you can stop there and come back to the rest whenever you have time. And if you would rather talk to a real person before you fill out one more form I completely get that. Email me at haley@campfire-concierge.com and I will walk you through it myself, the hard parts included.

Who in your family do you want to hand that land to someday?

You can earn money on land you already own by letting people camp on it, and you don't have to build anything or be home when they get there.
