It's one tent on 13 private acres, about ten minutes north of Durango, and it's the only one out here. While you're here, the whole place is yours.

You ride in on the side-by-side, so there's no parking lot and nothing to haul. We're in a valley, so you'll see a few homes off in the distance and hear a car go by now and then, but the acres and the riverbank are yours. Most people get out here, put the phone away, and don't pick it back up till they leave.

We've got our own stretch of the river too. Good place to sit with a book or float around on a warm afternoon.

Fair warning, we're off grid. The AC runs, but you're in a tent, so it takes the heat down without feeling like your living room. Power's solar with a propane generator for backup, and that makes some noise when it kicks on. For most folks it's an easy trade for having a spot like this to yourself.

Activities

A coal-fired steam train running since the 1880s, carrying you from Durango up to the historic mining town of Silverton. It follows the Animas River deep into the San Juan Mountains — through canyon and high country you can't reach any other way. A classic Durango experience.

Activities

Hit the Animas River with one of Durango's longtime rafting outfitters. Guided whitewater trips run right through town and out into the canyon — splashy, scenic fun with options for first-timers and thrill-seekers alike. A guide handles the paddling know-how; you just hold on and enjoy the ride.

Swimming

Soak away the day in natural mineral hot springs tucked into the Animas Valley. A collection of pools at varying temperatures, framed by mountain views, makes this the perfect unwind after a hike or a day on the river. Bring your suit and let the warm water do the rest.

Dining

Authentic Italian cooking in the heart of downtown Durango. Handmade pastas, a thoughtful wine list, and warm, unfussy hospitality make this a local favorite for a relaxed dinner after a day outdoors. Come hungry and settle in.

Paws Package

Bringing the dog? We stage everything they need at camp: food and water bowls, a cozy blanket bed, long tie-out leash, waste bags, muddy-paw towel, and a few thoughtful touches just for them.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying for two nights to get the full experience and truly unwind! We visited in July, so it was hot, but having the river right next to the tent was delightful and made it easy to cool off and relax. It’s...

We stayed at Summit & Sage and honestly, I don’t know how this place could be any more perfect. The private beach is literally about 100 feet from the tent, which I somehow did not realize when I booked! It’s a huge, SOFT sandy beach right along a slow, shallow...

Wasn't sure what to expect with a new company promising a "unique" experience, especially when we're sorta conditioned to expect glamping to mean side by side geodomes. 100% worth it for the air conditioning alone, but honestly they thought of everything, right down to a cold water dispenser, running water,...
