Somebody Thought About You Before You Got There

Somebody Thought About You Before You Got There

I wrote before about how I don’t want our guests to ever feel like they’re staff at their own getaway. But here’s the part you don’t see. Somebody still has to be the staff and at Summit & Sage that person is our Regional Manager. This is what it takes to get the tent ready before you ever pull in.

When guests leave

When guests leave, she goes back out. She cleans and she fills the propane and she fills the water tanks. She restocks the shampoo, body wash, dish soap and coffee, and she gathers every towel, sheet and piece of laundry and takes it all out with her.

And then what? The tent gets closed up, because we don’t leave a perfectly made bed sitting there waiting.

When somebody books

When somebody books, she goes back and she cleans again. She makes the bed fresh for you and she gets any add-ons ready. She puts out those little touches that make it feel less like you rented a tent and more like someone was expecting you.

She checks the candles and the flashlights and anything that takes batteries. The propane, the water, the tent itself. Every single time.

And the funny thing is, probably 1 guest out of 50 would ever notice if she skipped half of it. But we would know and that’s the difference.

If you are the one who usually does all of it

Maybe you are the one who does all of that for everybody else. You are the planner and the packer and the one who checks the propane twice and still wonders about the water. You have been running the whole trip for years so everybody else could have one. You get to be the guest now!

We don’t want you spending your getaway setting things up, checking propane, wondering if you have enough water, packing half your house, or cleaning before you can relax. The equipment is already there and the setup is already done and when you leave taking it all down is our job and not yours. You can see how a stay works if you want the plain version of it.

So go tell the people who usually count on you that this time somebody else has it handled!

We want you to show up and drop your bags and look around. And feel like somebody thought about you before you ever got there. Because somebody did.

If that sounds like the trip you have been needing, go pick a weekend. Looking costs you nothing. And if you would rather ask a real person what it is like out there, write to me at haley@campfire-concierge.com. I will tell you all of it, the good parts and the parts we are still working on.

So when you walk in and the bed is already made and the coffee is already there, what are you going to do first?
